Stretched Thin

I love writing and editing, but my schedule is SO full these days! So, my question for you folks is, how do you make time for your books?

Personally, I don't watch much TV anymore and I write when the kids are asleep or with the sitter. I also multi-task like crazy and my house is always cluttered, because the priorities are family, friends, and books, not housekeeping.

Happy weekend!

It also looks like you don't get much sleep either, based on the time this post shows to be posted (unless it is not accurate). My house is a disaster. Between work (editing included) and family and books, I don't have time to do much of anything either. TV is out of the question. I always find that one show per season that I say I am going to watch, and start out ok, but end up not following through because I just don't have time for the TV anymore. Even my reading is lacking. It seems like it is taking me forever to read a book anymore. I just try to read whenever I can. And always have the book with me wherever I go, just in case I find a few extra minutes of spar time I can squeeze in some reading.

Umm...yeah, I let my house go a bit. The essentials like dishes, laundry, and bathroom are always done, but dusting...no. Toys everywhere? Yes.

Plus, I'm pretty lucky that both my kids still take a nap at the same time. Two hours of guaranteed writing time everyday is a beautiful thing. :)

Yea, housekeeping is always last on the list... And I make lots of lists! If I can get everything in my brain down on paper, then I feel better.

Writing should come first but sometimes reading or blogging takes over...

I schedule my blog posts in advance, Kendra, so I'm getting LITTLE more sleep than the time stamp might indicate.

Emily, I'm jealous of the nap. My kids refuse.

Deniz, I have to turn off the little pings that let me know that messages are coming in when I'm writing, or I have the attention span of a golden retriever. SQUIRREL!

I'm glad I'm not the only one with a dirty house... Why can't I have a volunteer to come dust and fold laundry twice a week, simply because I'm amazing?
