Zombie Smurfs

Welcome to Disgruntled Bear! I post five times weekly about writing, reading, editing, and promoting YA paranormal/sci-fi/fantasy books. And when I run out of interesting things to say about those topics, I usually put up a funny video, link, or picture:

http://www.myspace.com/damon71124
If you're just jogging through, your next stop is Charmaine Gordon at: http://authorcharmainegordon.xanga.com/. If you get lost in the links, you can always follow the breadcrumbs back to http://blogjogday.blogspot.com.

So, we're having a giveaway here at the Bear this weekend:

The Body Finder (hardcover), Accused (signed paperback), and a SWAG pack of Spencer Hill Press bookmarks, cards, stickers, and the ever-popular Half-Blood guitar pick
To enter, just follow this blog and leave me a comment before midnight (EDT) on Thursday, August 11th. Your comment can be about anything: your favorite type of cheese, whether you believe Neil Patrick Harris can make the new Smurf movie watchable, a tip for surviving a zombie apocalypse, etc. Or just say, "hi." I'll use random.org to pick the winner and ship the above-pictured prize pack to a U.S. mailing address.

Happy Blog Jog!

I don't know if NPH can make the Smurfs movie watchable, though he's definitely made the commercials more enjoyable. He does the "straight man" so well in comedy!

I don't think I'm going to enjoy the Smurfs movie, NPH or not. I never thought the original cartoons were that great in the first place. But we'll see!

Neil Patrick Harris can make anything watchable. I loved him in Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog and How I Met Your Mother.

You've got one terrific blog, Kate. Best of luck on your job. The books look awesome.

"Promoting a book series is so difficult and depressing... "

Amen to that - especially YA... I think. Maybe.

Smurfs? Don't think so. Neil Whatshisname? Got nuttin' 4 ya there - Guess that makes me boring.

Bears are good though - even disgruntled ones.

Good luck with your books - & (*sigh*) promotion.

Well, I hate to say it, but I am not looking forward to the Smurfs movie. I can't see how it will be any good even if I do like Neil Patrick Harris. I am, however, looking forward to all of the upcoming SpencerHill Press novels. I recently read Half-Blood and let's just say that Pure cannot be released soon enough! Thank you for the giveaway!

I am a new follower, who loves cheese, and live in the U.S.
My brown Newfoundland dogs are often mistaken for bears and my computer is acting disgruntled, which is why the name of your blog immediately caught my attention.

Despite my deep love for Neil Patrick Harris, I think I'm still going to have to skip out on the Smurfs movie. If it was Zombie Smurfs movie, that might be different :)
