Book Launch!

FACT: Jennifer Armentrout is an amazing writer, and we should encourage her by buying her books.

FACT: Obsidian is wicked good.

FACT: You should get a copy of this book today.

Starting over sucks. When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I’d pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, outhouses, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring. Until I spotted my hot neighbor with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.

And then he opened his mouth.

Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something…unexpected happens. The hot alien living next door marked me.

You heard me. Alien.

Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and the mark he left on me has me lit up like Las Vegas strip to the bad guys. The only way I'm getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades. If I don't kill him first, that is. And then things got really bad…

New Series from Jennifer L. Armentrout

Here's the reason some of us SHP folks have been all teaser-y and cryptic in some of our recent posts:

Coming in September, 2012

CURSED
Dying sucks--and high school senior Ember McWilliams knows firsthand. After a fatal car accident, her gifted little sister brought her back. Now anything Ember touches dies. And that, well, really blows.

Ember operates on a no-touch policy with all living things--including boys. When Hayden Cromwell shows up, quoting Oscar Wilde and claiming her curse is a gift, she thinks he’s a crazed cutie. But when he tells her he can help control it, she’s more than interested. There’s just one catch: Ember has to trust Hayden's adopted father, a man she's sure has sinister reasons for collecting children whose abilities even weird her out. However, she’s willing to do anything to hold her sister's hand again. And hell, she'd also like to be able to kiss Hayden. Who wouldn't?

But when Ember learns the accident that turned her into a freak may not've been an accident at all, she’s not sure who to trust. Someone wanted her dead, and the closer she gets to the truth, the closer she is to losing not only her heart, but her life. For real this time.

So, you know... squeee!

It's already up on Goodreads, so add it to your TBR list ASAP.

Reviewers, feel free to request a spot on the ARC list by emailing your info to: editor (at) SpencerHillPress (dot) com. Please include your name, your blog name and URL, the number of followers you have, and your mailing address for paper copies OR your format preference (PDF, ePub, mobi) for e-ARCs. The ARCs won't be out until next Spring, but if the interest we got in Half-Blood is any indication, the list will fill up fast.

And feel free to post a congrat to Jennifer on her Facebook fansite: http://www.facebook.com/#!/jlarmentrout

Happy Tuesday, everyone!

Daimon

Daimon is here!
The downloads are FREE from the Spencer Hill Press site:
http://www.site.spencerhillpress.com/Daimon.php

A paperback version can be ordered from Amazon.

"Love in my world usually ended up with someone hearing 'I smite thee!' as she was cursed to be some lame flower for the rest of her life."

For three years, Alexandria has lived among mortals—pretending to be like them and trying to forget the duty she'd been trained to fulfill as a child of a mortal and a demigod. At seventeen, she's pretty much accepted that she's a freak by mortal standards… and that she'll never be prepared for that duty.

According to her mother, that’s a good thing.

But as every descendant of the gods knows, Fate has a way of rearing her ugly head. A horrifying attack forces Alex to flee Miami and try to find her way back to the very place her mother had warned her she should never return—the Covenant. Every step that brings her closer to safety is one more step toward death… because she's being hunted by the very creatures she'd once trained to kill.

The daimons have found her.

C'mon, you know you totally want to read this book now. And it's FREE!

Half-Blood (Covenant, #1)Half-Blood by Jennifer L. Armentrout

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is amazing! Fans of VAMPIRE ACADEMY will love it. The main character, Alex, has a wonderfully edgy, sarcastic voice, and she's simultaneously strong and vulnerable. Put this on your "to-read" list; you won't be disappointed!

Debut

Spencer Hill Press just signed a new author!

Jennifer L. Armentrout's debut novel, Half-Blood, will be released in September 2011.

I'll have more info about her progress here over the next year.  I hope you'll add Half-Blood to your TBR list, though; I read the manuscript in a day and called her with the publication offer within hours of finishing.  It's that good. In the meantime, feel free to stop by Jennifer's blog and become a follower, so you can say you knew her before she was famous.
